Rainy Day [X-Trans IV]
Intro
The idea behind my own Fujifilm simulation recipe called Rainy Day for the X-Trans IV sensor was to create something that will give me the best use of dark, overcast or rainy days where the light is soft and diffused, but a little dark and the streets are wet from the rain . Usually the colors are softer in this light but the contrasts are darker. I wanted a recipe that mutes the colors a little bit but increases the contrast just a shade and making the images a little cooler.
Rainy Day film simulation
I wanted to use Eterna Bleach Bypass as the base as I liked the starting muted color palette with a bit of contrast. This recipe is for the X-Trans 4 sensor and designed primarily for travel photography in dark, overcast or rainy weather. I chose the name 'Rainy Day' as I liked how the recipe handles the dark areas/shadows and how it lends a deep cool, soft color cast to it. Inorder to replicate a coarse film grain, I decided to use the strong/large grain setting.
The recipe works best on overcast or, as the name suggests, on rainy days.

Color Chrome FX Blue: Weak
White Balance: As Shot, 0 Red & -1 Blue
Highlight: +1

Noise Reduction: -4
Clarity: -2
ISO: up to 6400
Exposure Compensation: 0 (as metered)

Below are some examples of my Rainy Day film simulation. All photos are SOOC barring the one with the one above where I had to bring out the highlights in post. All were shot on the Fujifilm X-T4 with the 18-55mm lens.

Summary
I like how the colors look and combined with the diffused light the image looks quite moody. The reduced sharpening and large grain in the recipe lends a dark ominous look.
