Salted Caramel [X-Trans IV]
Intro
The idea behind my own Fujifilm simulation recipe called Salted Caramel for the X-Trans IV sensor was to create something that will give me the best use of cloudy weather where the light is soft and diffused. Usually the colors are softer and contrasts are low in this light. I wanted a recipe that gives the colors a little bit of a boost and increase the contrast just a shade without affecting the color temperature much.
Salted Caramel film simulation
I wanted to use Classic Negative as the base as I liked the starting color palette. This recipe is for the X-Trans 4 sensor and designed for primarily travel photography in cloudy weather. I chose the name 'Salted Caramel' as I liked how the recipe handles the whites and how it lends a slight warm, soft color cast to it. I wanted to replicate the finest film grain and decided to not use the grain setting.
The recipe does work in sunny weather, but you may have to open up the shadows in post.

White Balance: 5300K, +2 Red & -4 Blue

Examples of Salted Caramel recipe
Below are some examples of my Salted Caramel film simulation. All photos are SOOC barring the one with the cyclist where I had to open up the shadows in post. All were shot on the Fujifilm X-T4 with the 18-55mm lens.

Summary
I like how the colors look and combined with the diffused light the image looks quite harmonious. The extra sharpening and no grain in the recipe does the job to replicate a fine grained film.
